Extremely grateful for the opportunity to attend the annual VIP Gala for TechBridge, Inc called "Tech-the-Halls." I had an wonderful time. The event was held in downtown Atlanta at Microsoft's new campus (Atlantic Yards) which is across the street from Atlantic Station. The event was truly an amazing gathering of like minded individuals who celebrated their shared passion for giving and empowering local communities thru support of nonprofit organizations. Congratulations to TechBridge along with their partners, volunteers, trainees and dedicated staff who have worked tirelessly all year working together to (once again) do great things and give back to the community. I am also a proud volunteer for this organization.Special shout out to Atlanta mayor Andre Dickens for his efforts to attend the even and show his support. Otherwise, looking forward to next years event.https://lnkd.in/eGEb68uN#nonprofitorganization #microsoft #atlantamayor

The last 6 weeks have been filled to overflowing with shift and upheaval, particularly for our conference. First we had to move to a virtual conference. Then we had to move the date (October 4-6)We lost planning committee members as well as speakers in the process. I have had to keep reminding myself what’s important: 1. Getting women together to learn about their own self-belief, embrace worthiness, and have confidence in themselves.2. Raise money to offer grants to nonprofits doing the work of helping women and girls learn about their own self-belief, embrace their worthiness, and have confidence in themselves. I’m proud to say, we’re still here. We’re still finding ways to come together and keep believing in our vision. To help us grow in our belief, we’re creating opportunities to gather ahead of the conference to meet attendees, speakers and learn about our nonprofit grantees. We’re even finding new partners every day. Tomorrow is a gathering opportunity and it’s being sponsored by our newest partner Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial. This means it’s FREE to attend and your first drink is FREE! JOIN US TOMORROW at Blackbird Public House for some fun and fundraising! Meet representatives from Healthy Denver Inc. and Dress for Success Denver. Meet some of our speakersMeet fellow attendees The link is in the comments. If you’re in Denver tomorrow, we’d love to see you!

In the process of developing three non-profits over ten years, my greatest joy? Helping a dozen other nonprofits across the US flourish by sharing our model for media, messaging, storytelling, and donor cultivation. My message: be different by design from other nonprofits. Share your three defining differences that set you apart from other nonprofits. My guide for this nonprofit mentor coaching has been Youngme Moon, the Donald K. David Professor and senior associate dean and chair of the MBA program at Harvard Business School. She is the author of Different - Escaping the Competitive Herd – Youngme Moon (2010) - Standing Out in a World Where Conformity Reigns but Exceptions Rule.“Effective marketing is the art of collaboration – ascertain the dimension of our donor’s desire, paying heed to things they want, but paying attention to what they do not want.·What are donors looking for today? A sound more resonant, meaningful, a vibration that they can experience, in their bones, as being somehow ………different. ·Different requires an approach more adventurous.·Marketing sits at the intersection where a nonprofit meets people. ·Messaging is to be discursive in the unpredictable way donors are discursive.·Differentiation is a way of thinking. It’s a mindset. It’s a commitment to engage with people…in a manner they will value, respect and yes, perhaps even celebrate.”Dorothy Day Tampa – different, by design.
